"sporting" bit of a contradiction isnt it?

soopahfly

Sort of.  A sporting cinq has an 1108cc engine (55bhp), 20mm lower suspension, alloy wheels, anti roll bars, recaro style seats, electric windows, central locking, red seatbelts :D

Its not going to set the world on fire, but its a lot nicer than the 900cc versions.

Its a bit of a laugh, youll struggle to get cheaper motoring.

Oooo it sounds so glamourous:

QuoteCome on boys & girls alike, Wanting the bit of fun in your life? then this car is for you as there is loads of fun packed in to this little model, Change her body if that suits you,

Not quite how I remember the phrase going:

Quoteadd more je ne sais pas ce qui.

And then the glamourous ideas disapppear at this point:

QuoteCar is in sc**thorpe

anti roll bars.. i should hope even the non sporting ones have some form of ARB

soopahfly

Doesnt look like it, just the sporting.

equipment levels over the SX are

    * Front anti-roll bar
    * 20mm lowered suspension
    * 13" 4 spoke Alloy wheels
    * Red seat belts
    * Filled-in head rests
    * Rev counter
    * Colour coded wing mirrors
    * Leather covered steering wheel and gear-knob
    * Darker front dashboard
    * Sports seats
    * Electric headlamp adjustment(optional on earlier models)
    * Close ratio gearbox

the sporting is eqipped with the 1108cc engine so performance is up on the other models.

    * Engine size - 1108cc
    * BHP - 54
    * Maximum Torque - 63lbs per ft
    * Top Speed - 93mph
    * Acceleration from 0-62mph - 13.8secs
    * Combined fuel economy - 45.6mpg

Is it just me that thinks that fuel economy is a bit poor for a car that cant even break the ton?

you dont need anti roll bars on a road car at all. They just mean you can have softer springs and not get as much roll.

Wouldnt they stop mr_roll getting into the thing in the first case, thus eliminating the only reason behind this thread? :?

Mark

an ax 1.4 diesel will match that acceleration, beat it on top speed, and turn in 100mpg

soopahfly

And would beat the Cinq at dropping to bits at the roadside....Just.

Cheers my dears, but my Volvo is going to do for now for me.

Might just keep my Volvo for ever though, well until it blows up, and then Ill find some way of putting a humongous engine inside it, which knowing me will be in about 15 years.

Thanks for the link though!

If its the same one I remember the car wasnt built by rolls, they just used the radiator from one. And the engine was a merlin from a fighter or bomber on that, a 27 litre merlin.

BTW mr-rolls, how is your affair with Miz Royce going?  :mrgreen:
