I suppose the bigger picture is, hes got his own 4 bed house, works for the Government, as a computer expert, earns sh*t loads and gets on well with my kids, hes all way around there fixing their laptops, or router, I used to go clubbing with him, thats the nail, Im beyond dating and I dont want to be reminded of it.

If youve amicably split up then yes, it doesnt really make any difference.

Life sucks sometimes, reminds me of when an ex left me for one of my work colleagues.  This was after 6 years.

Just got to rise above it, move on and try and enjoy life.

Granted there are degrees of this.

For instance a mate whos just going to use her for sex/trophy cabinet, then yeah Id have a problem with it, but if its a genuine relationship and it wasnt started as mine ended (i.e. left me for him) then I guess Id probably be easier with it than if they dated a random stranger. :D

dont want to sound like a cock here Privateer... but will he be a good father to your kids and do the stuff you cant do ?

you should be glad hes a mate.. at least you can talk to him straight etc... and know anyreay know him so you know youre not being bull sh*tted...

i.e. you know hes a decent bloke, so if he bollocks one of your kids, you know the kid proberbly deserved it and its not that hes just a prat !

...also, hell probably be better to your kids because he is your mate than if he was just a stranger :)

Pretty low of your mate tho.  There are unwritten rules for serious exs and mates...

Why should there be? If its love its love, you shouldnt prevent other people being happy with whoever they want to be just because you happen to know the person they are seeing. Just because the relationship with one person broke down for whatever reason doesnt mean that their friends shouldnt be allowed to show interest, unless as posted earlier its just for a quick bang which would be out of order really.

Id rather see an ex happy with someone I know and trust than a random that could turn out to be a awful to them long term.
