Amusingly the 360 version is going to have online modes not available on the PC Version :)

only because the 360 gamers will get utterly wiped out if they play an RTS against PC gamers online.  Gotta give them something to make up for the fact they just cant compete, no matter how good they are.

In an FPS they stand a chance against an average player, the fact a PC Gamer has such a massive level of control in an RTS means they dont stand a chance.

is there a mouse available for the 360? that would level the playing field.

need a keyboard too though.  Ill never honestly believe the "best" gaming medium is a console.  They are fun, but PCs while being more expensive and fiddly to get right deliver a better experience IMO.

Having played identical games on X-box and a PC the mouse/keyboard combination will usually enable a PC player of a similar level to totally own an X-box one with controller in RTS games. The controlability is just that much more accurate from the mouse.

thats what i mean.  ive tried playing Dune on Playstation, an on my mates 360 with Battle for middle earth, and it was nightmare.  I dont like the game anyhow, but it was awful on the controller.

knighty, the AI is a hell of a lot nastier as you get higher. Easy is what it says, but it owns the previous Generals version, rather more like Normal on that. In Generals easy would mean it just sits around and waits for you, in this it comes out and tries to kick your butt.

M3ta7h3ad, tank rushes are still an option, but as you go higher expect them to become a problem. Sending a dozen heavy tanks in with support will give the computer problems, providing you are still alive. The option is still there to take its buildings over and sell the lot, but dont expect it to sit around and wait for you to do it.

I found that on hard, if you spend the first 15 mins building base defences (after moving your construction yard to the lower right island) then get an Ion Cannon up asap, followed by 5 mammoths, you will win very quickly.

Having dropships ready is nice if they build a Temple, drop the troopers, let them die, then Ion cannon it, easy peasy.

Tis difficult when the NOD seems to choose lots of air assaults though, not managed more than 1 victory when it concentrates on air based warfare.

might give that a try

docking them 25% I can have 2 bases up and ready before they really try anything and then pretty much walk all over them

(base in left corner, middle starting poing then right corner)

plus i tend to go for > refinery > crane > power plants

which speeds things up quite a bit... you hit low power, but that doesen;t matter that early on :)

edit:

did you run away to the corner right away at the start ?

I was just owned even more than usual :(

If you go for a corner you have to go for initial defence, block the ways in with guns

went for a change of tactics... raced for momoth tanks as fast as I could... and owned them at last :)

(they used a hell of a lot of air suff, but i got ontop of it eventually)

nicked there base too so I could have a play as the nod :)

"I am speaking to you from home. This morning the Postman in Preston handed me an official note stating unless i signed, that he wasnt prepared at give me the package, a state of war now exists between us an NOD. I have to tell you now that no such undertaking has been received, and consequently this PC is at war with NOD.

You can imagine what a bitter blow it is to me that all my long struggle to win peace has failed. Yet I cannot believe that there is anything more or anything different that I could have done and that would have been more successful.

Up to the very last it would have been quite possible to arrange a peaceful and honorable settlement between GDI and NOD, but Kane would not have it. He had evidently made up his mind to attack GDI whatever happened, and although he now says he put forward reasonable proposals which were rejected by the GDI, that is not a true statement. The proposals were never shown to the GDI nor to me, and although they were announced in the NOD broadcast on Thursday night, Kane did not wait to bear comment on them, but ordered his troops to cross the Border this morning. His action shows convincingly that there is no chance of expecting that this man will ever give up his practice of using force to gain his will, and he. can only be stopped by force.

I am today, in fullfilment of my obligations, going to the aid of GDI, so bravely resisting this wicked and unprovoked attack on her people. We have a clear conscience, we have done all that any country could do to establish peace. The situation in which no word given by NODs ruler could be trusted and no people or country could feel safe has become intolerable. Now we have resolved to finish it, I know you will all play your part with calmness and courage. At such a moment as this the assurances of support that we have received from the GDI are a source of profound encouragement to us.

When I have finished speaking certain detailed announcements will be made on behalf of the Government. Give these your closest attention. The Government have made plans under which It will be possible to carry on the work of the nation in the days of stress and strain which may be ahead of us. These plans need your help you may be taking your part in the fighting Services or as a volunteer in one of the branches of civil defense. If so, you will report for duty in accordance with the instructions you have received. You may be engaged in work essential to the prosecution of war, or for the maintenance of the life of the people in factories in transport in public utility concerns, or in the supply of other necessaries of life. If so it is of vital importance that you should carry on with your job.

Now may God bless you all, and may he defend the right. For it is evil things that we shall be fighting, against brute force, bad faith, injustice, oppression and persecution, and against them I am certain that Right will prevail.
