"I am speaking to you from home. This morning the Postman in Preston handed me an official note stating unless i signed, that he wasnt prepared at give me the package, a state of war now exists between us an NOD. I have to tell you now that no such undertaking has been received, and consequently this PC is at war with NOD.

You can imagine what a bitter blow it is to me that all my long struggle to win peace has failed. Yet I cannot believe that there is anything more or anything different that I could have done and that would have been more successful.

Up to the very last it would have been quite possible to arrange a peaceful and honorable settlement between GDI and NOD, but Kane would not have it. He had evidently made up his mind to attack GDI whatever happened, and although he now says he put forward reasonable proposals which were rejected by the GDI, that is not a true statement. The proposals were never shown to the GDI nor to me, and although they were announced in the NOD broadcast on Thursday night, Kane did not wait to bear comment on them, but ordered his troops to cross the Border this morning. His action shows convincingly that there is no chance of expecting that this man will ever give up his practice of using force to gain his will, and he. can only be stopped by force.

I am today, in fullfilment of my obligations, going to the aid of GDI, so bravely resisting this wicked and unprovoked attack on her people. We have a clear conscience, we have done all that any country could do to establish peace. The situation in which no word given by NODs ruler could be trusted and no people or country could feel safe has become intolerable. Now we have resolved to finish it, I know you will all play your part with calmness and courage. At such a moment as this the assurances of support that we have received from the GDI are a source of profound encouragement to us.

When I have finished speaking certain detailed announcements will be made on behalf of the Government. Give these your closest attention. The Government have made plans under which It will be possible to carry on the work of the nation in the days of stress and strain which may be ahead of us. These plans need your help you may be taking your part in the fighting Services or as a volunteer in one of the branches of civil defense. If so, you will report for duty in accordance with the instructions you have received. You may be engaged in work essential to the prosecution of war, or for the maintenance of the life of the people in factories in transport in public utility concerns, or in the supply of other necessaries of life. If so it is of vital importance that you should carry on with your job.

Now may God bless you all, and may he defend the right. For it is evil things that we shall be fighting, against brute force, bad faith, injustice, oppression and persecution, and against them I am certain that Right will prevail.

Me too

Got it and its good for a half hour blast but it doesnt hook me like Supreme Commander does. Its all a bit silly and about the tank rush, it feels like there is very little strategy or grasp of tactics required even on hard. As I said its still fun for a half hour blast though.

it isnt about the rush anymore.  Youll win a normal game, however youll get ripped to shreds if you try it against anything but the very easiest AI.  I can still tear up the old C&C AI players, these are evil.

The good old rush has worked against the hard NOD AI on every level Ive played so far. Admittedly you have to mix your forces and you cant usually just get away with spamming mammoth tanks, but it does work.

Like I said, its a great game and lots of fun, but there isnt that much strategy involved.

He did say no the single player but the skirmish and tbh the skirmish is what you play the post if your not playing multiplayer

im playing skirmish mode before playing the main game.  The AI is a bit smarter, it isnt rushing me, and its not sending small units.  It is sending medium sized mixed units, and not giving me a chance to recover properly.  Ive ended up garrisoning all the buildings around my base with a mix of troops, backed up with mammoths and some fixed guns.  Even that isnt 100% reliable as they keep changing the direction they come from.  Ive got a couple of rigs deployed since earlier, and they DO make a difference.

im loving a correctly co-ordinated full front assault with mixed armour and infantry.  Ive noticed that using just the Mammoth tank doesnt work all that well, though putting infantry and grenadeers into APC works well on base assaults!

Loving the single player game so far, been working a lot so not had a chance to play much though. First 6 missions were far too easy, then it gets very hard.   My old C&C1/RA tactics dont work against the AI now

Couple of missions require thought rather than the usual build 100 tanks and walk over the enemy, still loving it. Not seen any really hot birds in the FMVs yet though.

Dont like the first middle east mission, just as im about to get the mcv over the bridge a crap load of flame tanks come and destroy my base, and hundreds of suicide bombers destroy my mcv.

Anyone got any tips on how to do it?

Well Ive done GDI/NOD/Scrin campaigns now. Im sure Ive missed something with the NOD & Scrin though, very short with odd endings.
